Delayed court case for 4 Algerian Christians

Algeria : Delayed courtcase for 4 Christians

For the second time the Larbaâ Nath Irathen (in Kabylia) has delayed the courtcase of 4 Algerian Christians accused of opening a place of worship without having first obtained the necessary permissions. The case was initially programmed for 26 September, then delayed to 10 October, it is now reprogrammed for 28 November.

 

Algeria : Conviction of a ''non-faster''

The Algerian daily newspaper El-Watan reports the conviction of a young man aged 27 for not fasting at the end of August during the Ramadan.

On Monday 18 October the tribunal of Oum El Bouaghi inflicted the sentence of two years of prison and a fine of 100,000 dinars (about 1000 euros) for attacking a principle of Islam.

Morocco: A Swiss organisation is fighting against attacks on Moroccan believers using the internet.

The situation of the Moroccan Christians continues to worsen. Not only are they the targets of regular interrogations and psychological pressure from the authorities, to the point that the activities of some groups have stopped. But they are now also being attacked personally using Internet social networks such as Paltalk, Youtube or Facebook.

Judgement of Hocine Hocini and Salem Fellak

Algeria : Abandon of case for two Christians who did not fast.

The court at Aïn El Hamman pronounced its verdict 5 October in the courtcase against the two Christians Hocine Hocini and Salem Fellak arrested 13 August for not keeping the Ramadan fast. The judge announced that the case is abandoned.
